Failure of Imagination

The 9/11 commission report was released today. Here’s hoping that Bush doesn’t ignore this report like he ignored all the warnings BEFORE 9/11.

Here’s the report, if you have lots of free time.

Landscapers beware

Man, I’m glad I don’t live in a place where I have to watch out for large pointy-toothed reptiles while I’m in the back yard planting pansies.

Ha ha!

The GOP is reportedly getting nervous about the success of Fahrenheit 9/11 as its reaches past the Democratic base and into the “undecided” voters. AND it’s scheduled to be released on video just a few weeks before the election. You SHOULD be worried, fellas. Your days are numbered!

Get Well Soon

Big hugs and kisses to my brother in law, Nick, who had an emergency appendectomy last night. He’s fine now.

Red Carpet

So tonight we’ve been invited to the launch party for MTV’s new “reality” series, The Assistant, with Andy Dick. Hawk got an email saying that Kid Rock, Pamela Anderson and Hugh Hefner are supposed to be there. And of course, the Dick. I can’t decide if I feel well enough to go, but it sounds kind of fun.

Weekend

Had a glorious weekend up in San Francisco visiting my parents and our friends Cooper and Alicia. Friday night we went to dinner at this great place called Le Colonial. FABULOUS food and great company. Then we went to the Lone Palm, where Alicia works and knocked back a few with our bud Aaron and his wonderful friend Sarah.

Saturday went went to Haight and had breakfast at the unfortunately named Pork Store, but had a great breakfast and the vegan hubby was actually able to get a tofu scramble. Did some shopping then had some drinks, a nap, then dinner at Herbivore, a vegan restaurant in the Mission district. We went back there on Sunday morning for brunch because it was so good. And Alicia gave me the coolest yoga bag (with skulls!) from her company, Buom Buom (great yoga bags and gear)

The best part was getting to spend time with Coop and Alicia. Coop is our best bud, and when he left L.A. it was really hard to let him go. But hanging out with the two of them, I can see he made the best choice, because what a great woman he has! They are both very lucky, and we are lucky to have the both of them as friends.

Disconnected

Well the internet has been turned off at work in order to “increase productivity”. Blow. So I will be updating from home in the evenings. I can’t complain, the point of being at work is to work, but most of my surfing I did in the early morning with my coffee and during lunch. I did browse during the day, probably too much, but I wonder how this new rule will affect my productivity. My guess is not much. I can’t help it that most people can’t walk and chew gum at the same time (read: get their shit done and have a few extra minutes to read Defamer). But I will try to keep posting as much as possible.
