Weekend

July 31st, 2005

We had a good weekend – full of friends, food, movies and sunshine.  Friday night we went to Good in Silverlake with Michael, Christine, Aaron, Cooper and Alicia.  The food didn’t live up to the name of the restaurant, but they had great beer.  Saturday Hawk and I went to go see the Wedding Crashers, which was terrible, except for Vince Vaughn who always brings the funny.  Saturday night we went to Fatty’s with Christine and Aaron, and I’m kicking myself for making us leave before we had a chance to try the dark chocolate fondue.  I had the "Party in a Pretzel" sandwich, and it is to die for.  All of us were making yummy sounds throughout the meal.  Then we went to our friend Katie’s birthday party here.  Sunday we went for a long long drive through the Malibu mountains.  It was a gorgeous day along the coast, but it was crazy hot in the canyons.  We stayed home Sunday night and watched Born into Brothels on dvd.  Amazing film.

Well, tomorrow starts a very busy week, so off to bed I go!

Wednesday

Hmmm.  I really don’t have much to say this week.  I had lunch with some old co-workers yesterday and that was nice, I have book club tonight, which I am looking forward to.  Other than that, I’m stumped.

I added some pics to my photo galleries, and created a new one called "Us" that’s just Hawk and I.

Our New Curtains

July 24th, 2005

This weekend we took down the crappy, ugly blinds in our living room and (to the tune of almost $500) put up brand new curtains!  It totally changes the look of the room.  It’s so much warmer and homier now.

Hola perros…

I think the really weird part of this story is that this is in Colombia.  I would have expected it from the rich crazy dog loving people in L.A. – but Bogota??

Busy!

July 21st, 2005

Leave it to L.A. to combine horrendous traffic with stifling heat.  I’ve done so much driving the past few days – from the judge job in Pasadena to the new job in Agoura Hills, to West Hollywood for a massage, to Los Feliz for therapy.  Whew!  Before, I had too much time and not enough to do, now I have the exact opposite.  Ain’t life funny!

Anyway, if you’re in L.A. and wanting a good massage, go see Myke Zykoff.  He’s the perfect combination of strong and gentle.  And a super nice guy.  It was EXACTLY what I needed.

Beam Him Up

James Doohan, Star Trek’s Scotty, has passed away.  RIP.

The waiting is the hardest part.

I just finished the new Harry Potter book.

I can’t believe she hasn’t even STARTED writing the next one yet.

Torture, I tell you.  Torture.

“You’re really weird!”

July 18th, 2005

Johnny Depp is king.  His Willy Wonka was the weirdest, creepiest children’s hero EVER.  What a great movie.  This was an example of Tim Burton at his best – he’s so great at injecting the creepy.  It looked beautiful, was funny, heartwarming.  Go see it!

Jude, you naughty boy…

Jude Law issued a press statement today, apologizing to his fiancee, Sienna Miller, because his affair with his kids’ nanny has been exposed.  Whoops!
