Mürren

When we were planning our trip, we knew we wanted to spend a few days on our own in Switzerland after we split off from Hawk’s family. I started poking around online and in a Switzerland guide book and chose the little town of Mürren at random. It is nestled up in the Alps, about an hour up the mountain from Interlaken. It turned out to be one of the most beautiful places either of us have ever been.

Switzerland in general had been kind of light on snow all winter, and the evening we got there (after four train changes - Zurich to Bern to Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen to Mürren) I remarked to Hawk that I was kind of disappointed there wasn’t more snow. I shouldn’t have worried. It started snowing that night and didn’t stop the whole time we were there. It was the lightest, fluffiest snow I’d ever encountered. Perfect for snowballs or pushing your husband into a snowdrift :)
