Hubby and I watched Lewis Black’s new HBO special “Red, White and Screwed” last night. I’ve always enjoyed his rants on the Daily Show but wasn’t sure if he could keep it up for a whole hour long special. Let me tell you, this guy is one funny motherfucker. And it doesn’t hurt that a good deal of it involved bashing W. I highly recommend it.

We started re-watching Twin Peaks tonight and I remember how fucking fantastic this show is. Season 2 really needs to get released on DVD.

This is a nice little column about why Jon Stewart probably won’t be asked back to host the Oscars. Mainly, because all those big stars take themselves waaaaay too seriously and don’t appreciate someone poking fun at them, which is what Jon is best at.
Jon Stewart is going to host the Academy Awards this year. That will be so cool. He can always bring the funny. I hope he does his George Bush snicker. “Heh heh heh”.
James Marsters has joined the cast of Smallville. While I was glad to see that my boyfriend is getting some new work, the photo of him as Professor Milton Fine in the linked Zap2it article concerned me a little, because dude’s starting to look oooooooooooold.

BO-RING. And what was with giving out awards from the middle of the audience? How ghetto was that? We know no one cares about Best Animated Short, but let the poor guy up on the stage for christ’s sake! Loved Kirsten Dunst’s dress, hated Natalie Portman’s dress, meh on Hilary Swank’s dress. I do love her though, she is so well spoken and confident. Glad she won. And I loved Jamie Foxx’s speech about his grandma whuppin’ him and how his daughter told him "It’s OK if you don’t win, Dad, you’re still good". How cute! And I think Salma Hayek has the best boobs in Hollywood.
The FCC has rejected a complaint by that lovely organization the Parents Television Council that an episode of Angel back in November of 2003 was obscene and offensive. The episode in question I think was the one where Angel and Darla get together again and have sex. Evidently, you can see Angel’s "hips moving back and forth". Oh heaven forbid! Seriously, who are these people who have so much free time on their hands?
